Birds of Tokyo announced as the headline artist for The TAB Eureka

ONE of Australia’s most popular contemporary rock bands, Birds of Tokyo, will be the headline artist performing a free after the last concert for the world’s richest harness race, The TAB Eureka, on Saturday 2 September.

The inaugural event will see harness racing royalty, celebrities and racing enthusiasts descend on Club Menangle for harness racing’s biggest event of the year. Birds of Tokyo will add to the carnival atmosphere as Menangle becomes a height of activity on and off the track.

Birds of Tokyo have released six studio albums including Human Design which topped the ARIA charts. They are also renowned for their classic hits “Good Lord”, “Two Of Us”, “Plans”, “Lanterns”, “Brace” and “I’d Go With You Anywhere”.

They have played major festivals like Splendour In The Grass & Falls and appeared as special guests for Muse, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel and Bon Jovi.  They have also toured across Australia with some of the country’s most prestigious Symphony Orchestras.

Birds drummer, Adam Weston said, "While currently holed away in the studio bringing new ideas to fruition, we'll gladly press pause to soak up some fine Sydney sunshine at Club Menangle for The Eureka and play to what is sure to be a massive pumped-up crowd."

Racegoers will also be tempted by the tastes of the popular Aussie Night Markets’ street food vendors, encouraged to dress to impress for the Fashions on the Field competition, and be entertained throughout the night with a trackside DJ and roving entertainment.

Club Menangle Chief Executive Officer Bruce Christison said, “This is a major coup for The TAB Eureka with racegoers treated to a free concert performed live by one of Australia’s most popular bands. We are excited to welcome band members Ian Kenny, Adam Spark, Adam Weston, Ian Berney and Glenn Sarangapany to Menangle for what is promising to be an unmissable occasion.”

Hospitality experiences are available offering you an array of options to make the most of The TAB Eureka experience. From fine dining at the Miracle Mile Restaurant to the lively Lawn Marquee Cocktail Party, there's something to suit everyone's taste.

Entry is free to the event however pre-registration is required at clubmenangle.com.au
