Eureka! TAB selects runner in world’s richest race
TAB has selected exciting three-year-old colt The Lost Storm to represent its slot for the inaugural $2.1 million TAB Eureka at Club Menangle on September 2.
Tabcorp Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Adam Rytenskild said TAB was excited to be part of the The Lost Storm’s journey and to be the naming rights partner of Harness Racing’s biggest race.

Eureka opportunity to be the next Beautide
Tasmania’s $80,000 Eureka qualifying race is rapidly approaching, and it has fittingly been named after one of the state’s modern greats.
The qualifying race scheduled for Saturday night 5 August in Hobart will be known as “The Beautide” after the Tasmanian-bred champion who amassed over $2 million in career prize money featuring back-to-back Inter Dominion titles in 2014/15.
Hall of Fame trainer Barrie Rattray says the exploits of Beautide are an example of what can occur when the best that Tasmania has to offer is tested on the biggest stage.
Oliveira headed Down Under as TAB Eureka ambassador
One of the world’s most popular sporting megastars will be the racing ambassador for the world’s richest harness race.
Former UFC champion Charles Oliveira, who boasts over six million Instagram followers and a serious love for harness racing, has accepted the ambassadorial role for the inaugural $2.1mil TAB Eureka at Club Menangle on September 2.
The deal was inspired and made by Aaron Bain Racing and Summit Bloodstock, who will combine to bring Oliveira to Sydney for the week of the TAB Eureka. They also have a slot in the race.
Oliveira, who boasts 33 wins from his 43 fights and still competes in the UFC, sent social media into a frenzy on July 13, 2021 when he upstaged US Hall of Fame driver Tim Tetrick to win an exhibition harness race at Yonkers in New York.
“Harness racing is a real passion of mine. I’m crazy about it,” Oliveira said.
