Adornment for TAB Eureka Champion

The 2024 TAB Eureka winner will be adorned with a symbol of elegance and achievement with a custom browband to be awarded to the winning horse of the $2.1M race. 

Sophi’s Hobbyshop, all the way from Norway, will be the official browband designer for The World’s Richest Harness Race.

This exciting new addition to the 2024 TAB Eureka will feature the exquisite work of Lisette Karlsen, who started Sophi’s Hobbyshop in 2012. Sophi’s Hobbyshop has evolved from a personal hobby into a celebrated brand known for its meticulous craftsmanship and innovative designs.

“I saw a tutorial on how to make your own browband and thought it looked fun to try, so I posted it for sale in a Facebook group and it was sold within 15 minutes. I had several people asking me if I could make one for them too. The very same day, August 22nd 2012, I created my Facebook page and started taking orders” Karlsen said.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Karlsen, as Sophi’s Hobbyshop steps onto the international stage for the first time, creating a unique browband that reflects the prestigious TAB Eureka logo and the vibrant energy of the race.

“This is the first time I’m sponsoring an international event and definitely the first time working with an event of this magnitude” Karlsen said.

The bespoke browband will feature dazzling crystals that Karlsen believes “will make the shining star that wins the TAB Eureka shine just a little brighter.”

Reflecting on her involvement with the TAB Eureka, Karlsen shares, "I’m thrilled to bring my experience with creating browbands for Norwegian harness racing horses to this prestigious event. The Standardbred breed holds a special place in my heart, as my very first horse was a Standardbred mare.”

“For the TAB Eureka, I’m rooting for a bit more girl power and hope that either Eye Keep Smiling or Major Delight will continue the tradition set by Encipher and outrun all the boys!” Karlsen concluded.
